On Friday we went to a very nostalgic Finn Brothers gig. I had never seen the Finns when they were in Split Enz or Crowded House. I thought I may not ever see them as they postponed this gig twice due to Paul Hester's (drummer, ex-Crowded House) passing away. So I went to Friday's gig with mixed feelings. I had never been a big Crowded House fan. I knew their most famous songs and I liked them, but I have never been an expert in Finn lore. The postponement of the gig (twice!) pissed me off. It could have been re-scheduled while we were on hols in the US and that would have been disappointing. But finally, we were there. Friday night and the Finn Brothers were there too. It was good entertainment. It was fun. We had a good time. And they seemed to have a good time, too. Which is very important. Nothing more horrid than musicians behaving like bored and jaded bureaucrats. Which the Finn Brothers were not!


El viernes fuimos a un nostalgico concierto de los Finn Brothers . Nunca habia visto a los hermanos Finn en directo cuando tocaban en Split Enz o Crowded House . Y este anio pense que nunca les veria, ya que cancelaron el concierto dos veces al fallecer Paul Hester (ex-bateria de Crowded House). Fui al concierto del viernes sin mucho convencimiento. Nunca fui fan de Crowded House. Conocia sus canciones mas famosas y algunas me gustaban, pero de eso a conocer toda la historia de la banda, pues mas bien no. Que cancelaran dos veces me repateo, la verdad. Podriamos haber tenido mala suerte y que fijaran la nueva fecha mientras estabamos de vacaciones en USA. Pero, finalmente, llego el dia y nosotros estabamos alli. Y los Finn Brothers estaban alli. Fue un buen concierto. Entretenido. Los hermanos nos divirtieron con sus agudos comentarios entre cancion y cancion. Nos lo pasamos bien. Y pienso que ellos tambien lo pasaron bien. Que es lo importante. Que se sienta que los musicos no se lo toman como una 'obligacion', como si fueran funcionarios con veinte anios en el cargo. Y os lo aseguro, eso es justo lo que NO son los hermanos Finn!
