I am shocked at Ebay.co.uk (and I guess Ebay in other countries, too) permitting the re-sale of Live 8 tickets (tickets won after sending a text message, given for free by the Live 8 organisation) Some sellers even claim they will donate the money to a charity. A charity my eye. The charity of their own bank accounts, I guess. Live 8 is supposed to stand for justice. Justice with the so-called Third World. Everything Live 8 is clean, fair and whiter than white. The auction of free tickets in Ebay for thousands of pounds completely spoils the whole concept. I deeply despise those who sent a text message with the sole purpose of re-selling tickets, those who never had any intention of attending the gig. But at the end of the day, the world is full of despicable people who try to benefit from other people's hunger and poverty. We know that, DONT' WE!. And Live 8 organisers Bob Geldof, Bono and Midge Ure know that, too. They are well-seasoned adults who lost their innocence a long time ago. Shouldn't they have spoken to Ebay.co.uk to request stoppping the re-selling of the free tickets?. In my opinion, they should have. There is still time to redress this. The auctions can still be cancelled. Ebay can do it. Live 8 can do it. What are they waiting for??


Update: It became a national scandal. It appeared in the BBC News at 6.00pm. Outraged people, normal decent people, created fake identities in Ebay and placed fake bids to boycott the auctions. And it worked. Ebay cancelled all auctions for Live 8 tickets in the UK. Most of them. I see today a couple of them have escaped but the fake bids will ensure nobody participates in these auctions again.

Me sorprende desagradablement ver como Ebay.co.uk (y supongo que Ebay en otros paises, tambien), permite la reventa de entradas gratuitas para los conciertos de Live 8 . Esas entradas se ganaron despues de enviar un sms desde telefonos moviles. Son entradas gratuitas, nadie ha pagado nada por ellas. Me parto de risa al ver como algunos vendedores en Ebay prometen dar parte (o todas) de las ganancias a una Organizacion No Gubernamental. Ja ja, que risa. A una ONG dicen que donaran las ganancias. Sera la ONG de sus cuentas bancarias, digo yo. Live 8 dice en su pagina web que esta vez su proposito es justicia, y no caridad, con los llamados paises del Tercer Mundo. Todo en Live 8 es justo, claro, limpio y sin tacha. Blanco nuclear, vaya. Pues todas estas subastas en Ebay se cargan el concepto, colegas. Repugnantes esos tip@s que enviaron su sms con el pensamiento en Ebay, que nunca tuvieron ninguna intencion de asistir al concierto. Pero no nos chupamos el dedo, ya sabemos aqui que el mundo esta lleno a rebosar de gente despreciable que se aprovecha del hambre y la pobreza para llenarse los bolsillos, verdad? . Y al igual que aqui lo sabemos, los organizadores de Live 8 tambien lo saben. Bob Geldof, Midge Ure y Bono son ya mayorcitos y la inocencia la perdieron hace mucho. Costaba mucho contactar con Ebay y pedir que se impidiera la subasta por cantidades exhorbitantes y ridiculas de esas entradas gratuitas? No costaba nada hacer esa llamada. Y pienso que eso es lo que tendrian que haber hecho. Aun hay tiempo. Aun pueden contactar con Ebay. Y EBay aun esta a tiempo de cancelar esas subastas. Ebay puede hacerlo. Live 8 puede hacerlo. A que carajo estan esperando?

Update: Fue un escandalo a nivel nacional. Aparecio en las noticias de las 6.00 de la BBC. Personas normales y corrientes, asqueadas ante el mal uso de Ebay, crearon identidades falsas y ofrecieron cantidades exhorbitantes para boicotear las subastas. Y funciono. Ebay cancelo todas las subastas de entradas para el concierto Live 8 en el Reino Unido. O la mayoria. Hoy veo que aun quedan dos o tres que se han escapado de la quema. Pero nadie ofrecera mas dinero en esas subastas. Las ofertas falsas han acabado con ellas.
